Strong like Victor

Antonio Victor Cao and his wife, Gelasia, worked side by side in a small bakery in Cuba. When they moved to Miami they carried those traditions with them and opened the first Vicky Bakery in Hialeah in 1972. What began as a family counter grew into a South Florida staple: the cafecito window, the guava pastelitos, the party platters, the tres leches you pick up on the way to someone's house.

To his children, Antonio was never just a baker. He sang, he danced, and he filled every room with joy. Bar Victor is named in his honor, and that energy is the standard here. Drinks are made with intention. Food is prepared with care. Not for attention, but because it's the right way to do it.

Sweet like Vicky, strong like Victor

Where Vicky celebrates the sweet moments, Victor holds space for the strong ones. One lives in the warmth of morning coffee and pastelitos. The other comes alive in the glow of the evening and a perfect pour. Two sides of the same story, both built on taste that lingers and company that matters.

Key Largo is the family's first bakery in the Florida Keys, and in 2026 they opened a full bar beside it at mile marker 97.6. The cocktail list was developed with Miami bartender Giovanny Gutierrez and takes its cues from the bakery: cafecito in the martini, buñuelo syrup in the old fashioned, guava in the paloma, key lime in the mule, and Cuban rum underneath most of it.

Classic traditions

Some moments never go out of style. The sound of domino tiles, Cuban music, the slow enjoyment of rum among friends and a cigar on the patio. These are not events. They are traditions that happen again and again, and the bar is built around them.

The first stop, and the last one

Bar Victor sits at the top of the Keys. For a lot of people it's the first place they stop after the eighteen-mile stretch, and sometimes the last one on the way home. We'd like to be both. Pull in, sit down, and stay a while. There's always room for one more.
